28/9/2021 Lewis Hamilton hit his mechanic on Friday, he hit the pit wall on Saturday, he 'hit' P1 on SundayI stole this from a comment on YouTube as I thought it summed up the determination you need to carry on when you've made mistakes, and things are going wrong, especially when the eyes of the world are on you. On Friday practice, Lewis Hamilton overshot his pit markings and sent the 'jack man' flying off across the pit lane.
On Saturday qualifying, he hit the pit wall as he came in, meaning the team had to replace his front wing, leaving his team mate queueing to get a change of tyres and ultimately sending both of them down the qualifying order. Then on Sunday, he made an incredible recovery, and with a well timed tyre change at the end, won the Grand Prix. When you've made a mistake, or things aren't going right, there are times to reflect and correct, but at that moment, in the heat of battle, a race weekend or a project, it's not the right time, you've got to dig in deep, keep confidence that you can finish the job, and take the top podium position.
